Construction of CEDRAL factory starts

Eternit Baltic, the corrugated fibre cement sheet factory operating in Naujoji Akmenė, plans to begin construction of new production facilities on 2 November 2015. The new production facilities will produce Cedral cement siding for the local market and for the Central and Eastern European markets.

To date, UAB Eternit Baltic, which is part of the international group Etex manufacturing construction materials, has been only selling cement siding in Lithuania – the products were brought from other production facilities of the Etex group. Etex considered 5 countries – Poland, Germany, Belgium, Russia and Lithuania – for establishing the new production facilities. The decision to invest in our country was taken since a factory producing corrugated fibre cement sheets is already successfully operating in Naujoji Akmenė.

Etex plans to invest approximately EUR 34 million in the construction of the new production facilities. Implementation of the project will take a little more than one year – plans are to start production in early 2017. The technical capacities of the new production facilities will enable the company to produce over 4 million sq m of cement siding per year – this production volume will be achieved gradually. Approximately 50 new jobs will be created in the new production facilities in 3 years (Eternit Baltic currently employs approximately 150 people).

The start of construction will be celebrated with a time capsule burying ceremony, which will be held in the grounds of the Eternit Baltics factory on 2 November 2015, 1:00 p.m.

It now takes little time and effort to calculate the cost of roofing or façade construction or remodeling, create detailed budget estimate and receive technical drawings.
